4 Thanksgiving Table Decor Ideas to Wow your Guests

Posted by Janet Veach on Tue, Nov 14, 2017

Thanksgiving is a day devoted to family and food and for giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest, even in today’s fast-paced world. If you’re planning a feast for family and friends, you can cut down on the frenzy by taking some time to plan and set your Thanksgiving table before the crowd arrives.

Impress your guests with any one of these gorgeous table settings

1. Mother Nature Inspired:

For a show-stopping table that honors tradition, decorate with warm, nature inspired autumnal décor. Place pumpkins, gourds, nuts, and fruits down the center of your table, along with a sprinkle of autumn’s brightest accessories: vivid fall leaves (gathered from your yard or artificial). Keep place settings simple with earthy tones by adding a stick of cinnamon, seasonal herbs or wheat tied in twine. A gingham tablecloth and simple white dishes can complete your theme.

2. Pair Simple with Sophisticated:

Spice up your table with a little sophistication to give thanks in style. Repurpose an old reclaimed wood plank as a center runner and add burlap and jute ribbon on top to add texture and layers. Create a centerpiece basket using pinecones collected from your neighborhood, greenery from your yard and beeswax candles. Add some elegance by adding linen napkins, vintage silverware and gold-rimmed dishes.

3. Pile on the Pumpkins:

Bring some of Earth’s bounties to your table with branches collected from your backyard and assorted pumpkins in various shades placed down the center of your table. Add interest by spray painting a few of the pumpkins in metallic or matte pastel hues and top each plate with a small white pumpkin.

4. Light it Up:

Candlelight makes any meal romantic and can add instant ambiance to your festivities. Start by arranging small clusters of textured mercury glass votives on your table. Mix in a few candlesticks or old lanterns to add sparkle and intimacy (you can also use flameless, battery-operated LED candles). A bay leaf garland, a few simple pumpkins and a gold-striped table runner or tablecloth will complete the sparkling table décor.
