Amerifirst Home Mortgage Opens New Branch in Franklin, Ohio

Ninth full-service retail site in Ohio created to expand local homeownership opportunities

KALAMAZOO, MI (July 2, 2019) - Amerifirst Home Mortgage, a division of Amerifirst Financial Corporation, announces that it has opened a new branch in Franklin, Ohio, to serve the growing homeownership needs of the Dayton, Springboro and Franklin communities.

The full-service home loan center, located at Franklin Square Office Centre, 8401 Claude Thomas Road, marks the ninth retail site in the state of Ohio for the 35-year-old independent community lender. Serving the northern Cincinnati, Ohio markets, the branch will offer a full line of flexible home loan options, including purchase, new construction, renovation and refinance home loans.

Heading up the team as branch manager is Ohio native John Insco, a longtime Amerifirst loan officer who also oversees the Cincinnati Branch. Rounding out the team are loan officers and father and son duo Jeff and Andrew “Andy” Clements, and Processor Gina Wagner. All three team members previously worked in similar positions at Rapid Mortgage.

“We’re incredibly excited to be opening our doors in a region where our home loan products so closely match the needs of area residents,” said Co-Founder and Co-CEO Mark Jones. “In such a tight housing market, it’s tough for first-time homebuyers to find affordable single-family homes to purchase. We can help them explore attractive alternatives by offering financing that helps them buy property and build starter homes or renovate a property from the larger pool of available fixer-upper homes for sale, with very low or no down payment options.*

Amerifirst also partners with the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) to help thousands of low-and moderate-income Ohioans buy homes through cost-savings programs. These include a Down Payment Assistance Program, Ohio Heroes Program (mortgage interest rate discounts for local first responders, teacher and military), and Grants for Grads (mortgage interest rate discounts for recent college grads).

Loan officer Jeff Clements is excited for the possibilities as well, including educating active and retired military at nearby Wright-Patterson Air Force Base about the benefits of the VA loan. “We’re happy to be serving the community where we live,” he said. “We know the neighborhoods. We feel like we’re home.”
